Over 1 million vehicles were reported stolen in the U.S. in 2023 According to an article published by ncib.org. That number has been steadily increasing over the past three years. This is a troubling trend that shows no sign of slowing down. One company is hoping to make a dent in these statistics through their “Stop Before it Happens“ initiative.
Lorex technology recently launched a new line of smart security lighting products aimed at deterring vehicle thefts. These products include a range of security cameras that feature vivid neon led strips that draw attention to the camera. The intention of these neon accents is to draw attention to the fact that you are being watched. Which generally deters would be criminals from engaging in criminal activity.
The SSL line also includes a variety of other theft deterrent features including AI Motion detection features such as a warning siren that is intended to startle criminals and draw attention. There is also 2way audio features which will allow you to speak directly with the individual. Or you can send preset audio messages instead.
In addition to the new attention-grabbing accents and deterrent features, Lorex is offering customers $100 if their new security system fails to prevent a theft. While this seems like a small consolation and obviously isn’t going to be enough money to replace your stolen car, it is a testament to the confidence the company has in their products.
To qualify for the program, you will need to meet a few requirements which I have listed below for your convenience.

- You will need to have joined the Lorex Guarantee program and registered your product. You can do so here Create Profile – Lorex
- You will need a copy of the police report, and a copy of the video footage from your qualifying Lorex camera. You will then submit a claim to lorex which you can do here Customer Login – Lorex
- It is important to note that you must be at least 18 years old and submit your claim within 2 weeks of the theft.
- You must have purchased the qualifying product within the last year and be able to provide proof of purchase
- they qualifying product must have been installed at the location where the theft occurred.
